The Georgian State Hydrographic Service on the International Hydrographic Conference


 International  Hydrographic Extraordinary 5-th  conference was held on 6-10 October 2014  in Monaco .  The Conference was opened by  Monaco Prince  Albert II,  who is a honorary president of International Hydrographic Organization  (IHO).   Georgian State Hydrographic Service attended conference as associated member of (IHO).

 For achievements in Hydrographic fields The Georgian State Hydrographic Service was awarded with a medal of IHO.

There were 296 members  from 77 countries  and hydrographic technology creators in the conference.

The main subjects of international Hydrographic conference were: The place of hydrographic data in a geospatial world; E-navigation - its impact on the IHO and Member States; New and emerging technologies;Improvement   and development of marine charts and cartography.

At this time Georgian State Hydrographic Service is  potential member of IHO.  According the IHO information  Georgian State hydrographic Service  during two Years  has got enough votes from IHO member countries for membership. Only two countries are in the pre-voting  diplomatic procedures . Hence, in a very short period of time Georgia will become member of International Hydrographic Organization. .
