THE ROLE OF THE GEORGIA IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF MARINE NAVIGATION

A bilateral agreement was signed on November 23, 2012, between Norway and Georgia State Hydrographic Services under which electronic navigation charts (ENC) produced by will be available for international community via PRIMAR: for any interested person or company.

Black Sea is significant zone in world trade industry. Hence, the provision of safe navigation is necessary for vessels. One more empty zone in the Black Sea was covered and navigation safety was increased in Georgia’s territorial waters. PRIMAR ENC is a distributor of electronic navigation charts (ENC). At present, Georgia is PRIMAR’s plenipotentiary representative and will take part in resolution all the issues and maintenance which is related with production and distribution of electronic navigation charts (ENC) in GEOREP (report system in the zone of Georgia’s responsibility) zone.

For its part, is responsible for correctness and serviceability of the electronic navigation charts produced by it (Service)
